Gaston Day School Shanghai Shangde

The Gaston Day School Shanghai Shangde program was founded in February 2019, under the partnership between Gaston Day School, Gastonia, North Carolina, United States, and Shanghai Shangde Experimental School, Shanghai, China. As an overseas joint program of Gaston Day School, the Gaston Day School Shanghai Shangde program offers a US high school curriculum. Students who successfully complete the three-year high school study program and fulfill the graduation requirements will receive a diploma from the Gaston Day School Shanghai Shangde program at the Shanghai Shangde Experimental School.

Shanghai Shangde Experimental School was founded in September 2003. It is a K-12 private boarding school that provides future-oriented, individualized, and international education through three stages, elementary school, middle school, and high school. The mission of the school is to empower each individual student for a bright future through education. Shanghai Shangde Experimental School is an IB World School that is authorized to offer Primary Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Program (DP). It is the only school in Shanghai that has the authorization of all three IB programs. In 2014, Shanghai Shangde Experimental School became one of the 21 “International Curriculum Pilot Schools” authorized by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.
